It’s a battle of 5-2 team on Sunday night as the Chiefs host the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium. The Titans, winners of five straight, currently sit as the two-seed in the AFC and will attempt to unload a healthy dose of Derrick Henry.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, are coming off a dominant 44-23 over the San Francisco 49ers and are looking to battle their way back to the top of the AFC standings. The stage is set for an electric atmosphere Sunday night as Arrowhead Stadium should be in top form to be sured.

5 reasons the Chiefs will beat the Titans Sunday night

  • Andy Reid is coming off a bye. It’s a sentence that strikes fear in the hearts of many. Reid is an unbelievable 20-3 coming off a bye in his career. Another crazy stat, however, is that he’s 2-9 all-time against the Titans which is a tad concerning. The Chiefs last notched a win over Tennessee in January of 2020 as KC dispatched of the Titans in route to a Super Bowl title.
  • The Chiefs are getting healthy. We expect to see rookie first-round pick Trent McDuffie back for the first time since week 1. Players like Willie Gay, Mecole Hardman, Mike Dana were all full participants in practice late in the week. The bye came at a great time and it’s clear this team is loaded for bear for the stretch run.
  • The Titans are one dimensional. We know Derrick Henry is one of the best backs in the league. Henry has rushed for over 750 yards so far this season with seven touchdowns. We still don’t know if it will be Ryan Tannehill or Malik Willis under center at QB. Regardless, the Chiefs young secondary should not be tested much on the outside due to Tennessee’s QB issues and lack of weapons.

Willis or Tannehill Sunday night?

  • The Titans are a fraudulent 5-2. Tennessee will likely win the AFC South, don’t get us wrong. The division is that brutally non-competitive. The Titans are a double-digit road favorite tonight despite winning five straight. Why is that the case? Tennessee’s wins have come over the Raiders, Colts x 2, Commanders and Texans. Scared yet?
  • Revenge factor. Travis Kelce mentioned earlier in the week that the Titans’ complete beatdown of the Chiefs on October 24th last season is very much engrained in the team’s psyche. The team went on to win eight out of its last nine after that embarrassing loss. The Chiefs know that AFC seeding is on the line Sunday night and past failings against this Tennessee will have KC’s full attention.
