According to a report by NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will play in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game. Kelce suffered from back spasms during Friday’s practice and was listed as questionable on the Chiefs official injury report. The Chiefs even activated previously injured tight end Jody Fortson to the active roster in the meantime.

Kelce has not missed an NFL game since last season when he missed the Steelers game due to testing positive for COVID. For the Chiefs, it’s an all hands on deck situation as all previously injured players (including receiver Mecole Hardman) could be available for Sunday’s championship game.

Kelce’s injury status caught many by storm on Friday, but his designation was clearly precautionary as Travis looks to start in his 15th playoff game as KC hosts Cincinnati on Sunday at 5:30 Central.
